With International Women’s Day (8th March) around the corner, we thought we’d give back as best we could with a free tour!  This award is to celeberate, honour and reward the incredible women who give their time and resources to enhancing the quality of life of others with less.

We know there are countless incredible women out there who contribute to the community, without expectation of receiving anything in return.  So, Cockatours would like to extend our gratitude and thanks for their community spirit, by way of a relaxing, yet adventurous holiday!

The Prize

The winner of the Oustanding Women Award 2021 will receive an ENTIRELY free 15-day Cape York tour (click link to see the prize) with Cockatours from the 22nd July – 5th August 2021, valued at $3,190.  The only expenses the client will have to pay will be getting to/from Cairns, personal expenses on tour and 2-3 meals on the tour that are not included as standard.

Nominee Traits:

1. Has had a significant positive impact on the lives of people in the community
2. Has enriched the lives of others, eg.
   1. Community organisation staff, volunteer staff, liaisons between people and organisations, fund raising, private/independent work
   2. Special notice will be given to people who have given their time or resources to enhancing the lives of others with less and gone above and beyond the normal call of duty

Nominee Criteria:

• Must live in the Cassowary Coast Region & Cairns Region (inc Yarrabah, Douglas & Mulgrave Shire).
• The nominee must:
  • be aware they have been nominated before submitting an entry
  • Be an oustsanding woman between 25-80 YO
  • Be available between 22nd July – 5th August
  • Be fit & willing to camp for 15 days, willing to engage in activities as a client and willing to have an absolute blast.

To Submit:

• Take a video on your phone (max 3 minutes long), detailing what your nominee has done and why they should be commended and how this would help them
  • Start the video with “I nominate FULL NAME for the Cockatours Outstanding Women Award”
  • No editing is needed, just speak to the camera, tell us about your nominee briefly and upload it!
  • If you aren’t confident to take a video…close your eyes for a second, think about the amazing person you’re nominating and the things they’ve done.  Then open your eyes, start the video and speak from the heart about that person 🙂  This is all about them 🙂
• Upload your video to Dropbox.  If you don’t have a Dropbox account, >> create a free Dropbox account here <<.  Feel free to upload to YouTube as well.

Nominations will close at midnight on the 31st March, 2021.

The winner will be announced via our Cockatours Instagram & Facebook pages on Mother’s Day (May 9), 2021.  Follow our IG & FB pages to keep an eye out for the announcement and other amazing stories and prizes (it also helps us to keep giving back)! 🙂
