2021 Tentative Tour Dates have been released!

We honestly believe our tours are some of the best tours in Australia!  Our Cape York, Gulf Savannah & Kimberley tours are hand-crafted to design the best tour you could imagine!  We are adventurers and travellers at heart but also perfectionists, so we spend a LOT of time researching our tours.  We believe these tours are the most comprehensive, best value tours for all of these regions.  I’ll buy you a beer if I’m wrong!

With Cockatours owner & ecologist, plus either his phenomenal Kimberley/NT guide or Cape York chef, these tours are jam packed with experiences and tasty food!  We hate to say, but our job isn’t letting you go home skinny!  Being owner-operated we can be very flexible on the road, make for a fun, stress-free tour!  We are super excited with the tours we’ve produced for 2021 & we can’t wait to share the adventure!  We aim to make our tours senior friendly tours and we craft each tour with that in mind!

Ensure to read each itinerary to choose the perfect Cape York Safari for you as each tour is unique. Remember there are limited 14 seats per tour and WE SELL OUT every year!

To check availability, see below or call 0404 309 308 or email info@cockatours.com

If your ideal tour was booked out this year, please email or call us, and we can put you on the top of the waiting list for the following year.  Otherwise we highly encourage looking at our other unique tours, we have clients eager to come on all our tours after doing just one!

Review of the Year, 2020

“Rossy’s knowledge covering just about everything that moves, grows, lives etc is outstanding and information is given in a very understandable manner. He is an excellent environmentalist/ecologist.

I have travelled to many countries and been on many tours but this trip is top of my list of excellence for excitement and enjoyment.

I have learnt a great deal about the environment which exists in this wonderful country, particularly Cape York. If you are thinking about visiting Cape York – dont overlook Cockatours. I guarantee you wont be disappointed.”

Client Testimonial

We were made to feel like part of the family right from the start and Rossy’s banter as we covered the bumpy dusty roads was interesting and very informative and I began to feel like I was with Steve Irwin himself. This was further enforced as he got such pleasure in catching flora and fauna to show to us city people…
The miles passed by easily as we were shown crocodiles, swam in wonderful streams, and had friendly and interesting communal talks around the campfire as the evening meal was prepared. These people who were strangers to me in the beginning became friends to me by day 2
…The money I paid was about the best value dollar for dollar that I’ve ever had. I will pass on how much I enjoyed it to all my friends and would recommend this trip to anyone who asks for the rest of my life. The photograph’s we took at the tip of Australia are about my proudest possessions and have centrepiece on my mantelpiece.
One of the best 14 days of my life, who knows? You may hear from me again in the future to ask you to fit me in for another 14-day trip!!!

Bruce S, 2018

“An extraordinary inaugural tour from Tully to The Tip by the new owner of Cockatours. Over 3,000 km in 14 days was a significant achievement with more than 1900 km on gravel roads of varying quality. No injuries, no losses, no illness and no damages was a testament to the organisational talents of Brian Ross and his partner Critty Wallace. Great choices of bush camps and very interesting sites along the Cape roads. Excellent meals and convenient smokos throughout the trip. The additional ferry trip to Thursday Island was a pleasant bonus after reaching the Tip. Both Brian and Critty treated all tour members with respect and courtesy and engendered group harmony and cooperation with seemless ease. Social interaction throughout the tour was exemplary and contributed to the efficiency of camp set ups, meal preparation and clean ups. Everyone shared the chores willingly which reflected on the leadership skills of Brian and Critty. We would heartily recommend Cockatours as the best and most cost effective way of seeing Cape York.”
